Local bikers invited to join charity ride out
We are delighted to be holding the 2nd annual SCAA Biker Bash in May 2015!
Members of Scotland’s motorbiking community are invited to join in a charity bike ride in May of this year in aid of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
The second Biker Bash, which is taking place on Sunday 31 May from 9.00 am, aims to have as many riders and pillion passengers as possible joining them on the journey from Scone Airport, riding around some of Perthshire’s most scenic roads and into Dundee to raise money for the worthy cause.
Dubbed the ‘Biker Bash’ the event is the brainchild of local man Phil Wright. Phil said, “As a biker myself I’ve sadly heard too many stories of people injured and hurt on Scotland’s roads. It’s not just bikers, no matter how experienced riders and drivers are accidents do sometimes happen. That’s why it’s so important that we support the work of the Air Ambulance service which can respond much more quickly than any other kind of emergency service.”
After many years as a biker Phil knows the power of bringing together the motorcycling community to support causes like this.
Phil said, “The SCAA is such a great cause, and I know it’s one which is close to the hearts of many bikers. This rideout is a great chance to bring bikers from all over Scotland together to share a fun journey in some cracking scenery and raise cash for a really, really worthwhile organisation.
“This is the second year we’ve organised the Biker Bash, and we are hoping to break last year’s total raised – over £2700 – which was all down to the fantastic response from the local biking community.”
